Providence, RI. — Wingate Healthcare recently celebrated the Grand Opening of The Terrace, one of Rhode Island’s only early stage memory programs, located on Blackstone Boulevard in Providence, Rhode Island.

The Grand Opening celebration, held on June 30th, kicked off with a ribbon cutting ceremony including remarks by President of Wingate Healthcare Alexandra Schuster, Executive Director of Wingate Residences on Blackstone Boulevard Roberto Costa, Vice President of Real Estate David Feldman, and Scott Schuster CEO of Wingate Healthcare.

“There’s always assisted living and then there’s memory care, but there’s a big gap between the two,” expressed Roberto Costa. “We were able to create an environment for our residents with memory impairment that allows them to be as independent as they should be!”

“The Terrace is a less intensive and more appropriate environment for residents with memory impairment who may need some additional services but may not need to be in a typical assisted memory care all-inclusive program,” said Alexandra Schuster. “We have an extraordinary assisted living program here, as well as a later-stage memory care program. As our residents age in place, we have the ability to service their needs over an extended period of time at different levels of care. The Terrace truly rounds out the continuum of care on the Blackstone campus.”

The Terrace is individualized to those in early stages of memory loss. The residents in The Terrace are provided with programs and activities that are challenging and individualized to residents in earlier stages of cognitive decline. Typical residents in the Terrace may require cueing and supervision, as well as a structured environment to maximize success. Amenity spaces include a beautiful dining room, Salon and Spa, Caf , and Arts and Media room, living room spaces, and an outdoor rooftop Terrace.
