New 61-residence community from Wingate Living and GingerCare Living offers a boutique approach centered on wellness, connection and active living
Needham, MA (October 1, 2026) – Wingate Living and GingerCare Living, Inc. officially opened One Wingate East, a new boutique-style independent living community in Needham, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, September 23.
The opening adds 61 new one-, two- and three-bedroom residences to Wingate Living’s established Needham campus, offering independent seniors a lifestyle designed around wellness, connection and active living.
“Today’s older adults want to maintain their independence while enjoying the experiences, amenities and connections that make life fulfilling,” said Alexandra Schuster, President of Wingate Living. “One Wingate East was created with that in mind, and bringing it to life has been a true partnership. We are incredibly grateful to GingerCare Living, Jessica Schuster Design, The Architectural Team, D.F. Pray, and all of our partners who transformed this building into a beautiful, vibrant community. We’re thrilled to welcome our first residents and look forward to being part of the Needham community for many years to come.”
Designed for older adults who want to maintain an active, independent lifestyle while gaining the convenience and social connection of community living, One Wingate East combines thoughtfully designed private residences with luxury amenities, such as a golf simulator, billiards and game room, movie theater, sports lounge, elevated dining, yoga and spin studio, concierge and valet services, and more, that encourage residents to connect, gather and engage.
The community’s location on Wingate Living’s Needham campus also provides residents with the benefits of an established senior living setting while maintaining the independence and flexibility of their own residences.
“The opening of One Wingate East represents an exciting milestone for GingerCare Living and our partnership with Wingate Living,” said Richard Feldman, Chairman of GingerCare Living, Inc. “From the beginning, our shared vision was to create a community that gives older adults greater choice in how they live, connect and enjoy this stage of life. Seeing residents now settling in, building relationships and making One Wingate East their home is incredibly rewarding, and we look forward to watching this community grow for years to come.”
The opening comes as senior living providers increasingly look to meet the expectations of a new generation of older adults seeking options that extend beyond traditional models of senior housing. One Wingate East was developed with that shift in mind, emphasizing choice, hospitality, wellness and opportunities for connection.
